Pressure control valve or also called Relief valve. Its Function is to provide protection for the hydraulic system so that the components in the system are not damaged, thirst/ avoid the occurence of rupture of oil lines and pipes and prevent leakage at the connection.
The relief valve performs this function by releasing pressure when the relief valve setting is reached. The relief valve opens when the pressure in the system exceeds the spring force on the relief valve. The spring holds the relief valve in the closed position. When the fluid pressure increases to a point that has exceeded the spring force, the relief valve opens and allow oil to flow into the reservior. This process is called "relieving", or limiting the system fluid pressure.
